How Free are our Women

Independence day is celebrating the anniversary of National Independance. On the day of Independance, a certain thought came in mind : Indian Women, are they really Independent. The real meaning of independance is freedom, liberty, self rule, lndulgence etc. Can women walk safely on the streets at night without any fear of being grasped or chased. The answer is no. A girl can’t feel safe at night and she doesn’t have the freedom to wear the cloths of her choice. The life of women is like, if she travel alone on her own at night, she has to pretend to be on the phone with father or brother whenever she see a group of boys walking near her. She has to wear the cloths according to the company or the transport she is going to use.

In our country violence against women is increasing constantly day by day . When we turn the leafes of the newspaper, we came across many headlines of acid attacks, dowry deaths, ill treatment, rapes, harassment etc.
We need to take the initiative to make our country more safe and secure. We should take initiative to in the right direction so that the women can also enjoy freedom and rights and feel fearless.
Women are not safe alone in India.The government of India needs to take a step for the women of India. On this Independance, let’s take an initiative against those issues that don’t make the women independent.
